Get out of your head

Where is my connection, is it hooked up? Is it plugged in? Is it even on? Hello, hello are you there? What happens when no one is listening? Get out of your head and get moving, writing, painting, teaching, seeking, helping, encouraging, motivating.

Get up!

Get up on that horse and ride into town where the work is. Get up, gather up your provisions. Saddle up, because there is work to do. Brave the dust, brave the heat, brave the enemy that seeks to destroy you. Brave the wild beast that seeks to have you as it’s next meal! Get up, show up, because your work matters.

The Struggle

Oh the dam struggle, the wrestling, the fight for creativity in a world of compliance and conformity. Oh how I long to sit down and create something; to bring something into the world that didn’t exist on yesterday. Is it wrong to write, to paint, to sing, to start a food truck? Why do I feel a sense of condemnation, resistance, selfishness whenever I’m creating? Why do I feel I’m during something wrong, wasting my time, thinking only of myself. Didn’t God create? Didn’t he take a void and formless, mass and create the world? Didn’t he take chaos and create a thing of beauty? This struggle is real and it exists everyday.
