The Tongue

The deadliest weapon known to man is the little piece of flesh sitting inside his mouth: his tongue. It has destroyed marriages and ended friendships. It has started wars and ended lives. It has severed parent-child relationships and has falsely accused. It has degraded women and disrespected men.

No Guarantees

Life gives me no guarantees. I must be willing to get up and do my work. I can’t wait for the right time because it never comes. I can’t wait for others to get it because they never will. I can’t wait to feel like it because I wonโ€™t. I canโ€™t wait until things get better because they might get worse. The perfect situation is a myth, and waiting until Iโ€™m good and ready is a lie. All I have is today, right now, with no guarantees.

I’m here, prepared as I ever will be; at least, thatโ€™s what I told myself. Did I forget anything?
