Get your rest, it’s a good thing. Close it up, shut it down, go to sleep. know when to say no. Eat the things that will empower you and help you stay focus. Take a walk. Limit the stress. Take care of yourself, that you may take care of others.

Creativity is often misunderstood. Some don’t see the purpose in it, others view it as a act of selfishness, you in your own little world, with your own beliefs, during your own thing.

I must write. I must write when I don’t feel like. I must write when I’m afraid. I must write when I have courage. I must write when feeling alone. I must write when there’s nothing to say. I must write when there’s plenty to say. I must write when all hell is breaking lose. I must write when experiencing peace. I must write when misunderstood. I must write when understood. By now I think you get the point, I must write.

Don’t base your success on your surroundings. Your surroundings can change at the drop of a hat, or the changing of the wind. Know that the success is in the doing, regardless of the outcome.

You don’t need certification to qualify you. Qualification comes by picking yourself, practicing and shipping your work everyday.

The practice: Do creative work everyday, in every way possible. Ship work that matters. See your art as a game changer. Find your voice amidst the ruckus. Know that you have what it takes. Pick yourself.

Don’t become overwhelmed by life’s demands. the situations that you have no control over can cause you to want to shut down, run and hide. Find your solitude, find your place, find your peace. Find the funny, find the interesting, find the thing that keeps you moving forward, “step by step, inch by inch!” The world is waiting.

Showing up everyday and during your creative work helps you fight thru the resistance. Shipping what you made regardless of the outcome teaches you, that no matter what’s going in the world or in your life, you can control your response. My response is to write.

Hey imposter! Hey you fake, you phony, what are you during showing up today? Do you think you got what it takes to make a difference? Do you think you’re worth listening to? Yes!
